Coolest Parties

Pooh Baby Shower

For invitations for this Pooh baby shower I used some Winnie the Pooh stickers and put on the front “Hip Hip Poohray baby is on the way”. On the inside it said “For a tiggerific time please join us for mother's name baby shower” and added all the details.

For the Pooh baby shower decorations I used red, orange and yellow table cloths streamers and balloons. On the table I sprinkled a bunch of small Pooh Bear stickers I found at Dollar Tree. I made a diaper wreath to hang over the fireplace.

And there was also a matching diaper cake as part of the decorations.

For party favors I took little terracotta pots and painted them to look like little honey jars. I filled them with netting and mints and tied them off with a ribbon.

The “real” cake was two tiers with a tree covering both tiers and Mr. Sander's door form Pooh's house. It had the Pooh bear figures on it and baby blocks going around the side. I got them from Dollar Tree. Grass trim and little flowers and toad stools were made from fondant as well as a few bees. I also added a fondant baby and little bear on the top. A first for me.

I made a fruit bouquet for the center piece on the table.

Teddy Grams has come out with a new trail mix that has both little teddy bears and bees in it so I had a bowl of that setting out to snack on.

When the mother to be arrived she was presented with a corsage made from baby socks. For the Pooh baby shower games I made up a game book using a program in home publishing. It had different pictures of Pooh on some of the pages and things like word finds and word scramble games for the guest to do while waiting for everyone to show up. We played several other games as well.

One of the games was “Shopping for baby” where everyone gets 5 minutes to shop from A-Z for something for the baby. If someone else came up with the same answer no one gets the point for it. On the net I found an Around the World baby shower game where they had the word baby written in different languages and you had to guess which country went with which word.

We also played “Guess what daddy fed the baby?”. It's the one where you melt the candy bars in the diapers and everyone has to guess what they are. It's funny to watch everyone looking and smelling these icky looking diapers. Makes for great photos.

We ended the Pooh baby shower games by finishing off nursery rhymes. I would say a part of one and everyone else had to try and finish it. At the back of the game book was a poem from the baby thanking everyone for attending the shower. After the games we ate and the Mom to be opened her gifts.
